Backgrounds

In photography, you want to pay special attention to the background of your picture. You will want to compose a background, find a pleasing existing background, avoid a cluttered background, or blur out an unavoidable busy background.

Simple enough? What you need to do is become more cognicent of the surroundings. Is there something unsightful behind your subject? Is there a pole or other distraction that would make the photograph look odd like a pole sticking out of your child's head?

Keep the backgrounds simple. Too much "noise" interfers and draws the focus from the subject to an unimportant object. Unless, your taking a landscape picture, remember your subject is the focal point!  My style is to choose a background that is beautiful as a back drop or one that compliments the subject, the clothing, hair, complexion, etc.
