Play Dough

For my son's Christmas party at school, the students were asked to bring a small treat to share with each child in the class. Luke and I decided we would make homemade play dough in a colorful Christmas pallet.
This activity is fun for little ones. It's fun to squish the dough and create custom colors. This is also a great science lesson.

The recipe:
1 cup water
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
food coloring
1 cup flour
1 tablespoon cream of tarter

Combine all ingredients in saucepan and cook on medium to low heat. Stir constantly until dough forms. Remove from pan. Knead with hands for 2 minutes. Make a well in the middle of dough for food coloring. Knead in the color until absorbed. Store in air tight container in refrigerator. Lasts up to 6 months.

This is a fun gift for small children to share with friends.

To make sticky labels, buy full size sticker sheets at a office supply store. Using word perfect, type message. Then cut, peel off back, and stick on.
