4th of July 2011

Joe starts the 4th of July with an outdoor grilled breakfast for the neighbors. The beauty of this tradition is Joe does the planning, inviting, shopping, setting up, cooking, serving, and cleaning up so I and all the others just show up and enjoy the fruits of his labors. It isn't fancy, but it sure is a wonderful thing he does each fourth!

We had a traditional Fourth of July family BBQ with grilled hamburgers, homemade potato salad, baked beans, crudites and dill dip, watermelon, and homemade strawberry ice cream.
Ell is our fantastic glow stick jewelry designer. The young neighbor kids loved it!

It poured rain on our Fourth of July this year. I don't every remember it raining on the Fourth of July. We had our own firework show in our cul-de-sac of fire. It was a little patriotic display that did my heart good.
