Pleasant Grove Vikings' Stunning Victory over Lehi 2013

It was an emotional win.

Here are two of my favorite guys and favorite number!

He's a tender little guy." (Napoleon Dynamite)

"Cardiac! exclaims P.G. Coach Hamilton to sum up the victory over Lehi Pioneers. What a game! What a night! What a kid! I appreciate the kind statement Coach Hamilton made in The Deseret News about my deer boy, Jeremiah Evans. "Hamilton also had praise for quarterback Evans. "How about that kid! He comes to PG, in a new home, makes new friends, gets in here on the team and gains the support of his teammates and coaches and runs the team so well. He is an impressive kid."--Deseret News September 20, 2013

If you would like to read more about the stunning win over Lehi last Friday night, here is the link to Deseret News High School Sports. Here is another fine high school prep article in the Salt Lake Tribune. The title is aptly descriptive of the game: "Prep football: Pleasant Grove pulls off stunner vs. Lehi

Evans throws a TD pass in the closing minutes to win it." Salt Lake Tribune, September 20, 2013.
The Daily Herald wrote an excellent summary of the game here. "Pleasant Grove Vikings stuns Lehi with late touchdown. The Vikings made a miraculous comeback, scoring a touchdown with just 27 seconds left to earn the stunning 37-34 victory over the Pioneers." The Daily Herald, September 20, 2013. Not only did The Vikings stun Lehi, they stunned me with their grit, their fight, their heart. They NEVER gave up. The chips were down. A victory seemed out of the realm of possibility, but they seized a victory in the last 27 seconds of the game. Love to all our players!!

I am so proud of our team. As a mother, I could not ask for better associations than the students and players at Pleasant Grove High School. It is a fantastic student body with winning teams, winning kids, winning academics, winning administration and coaches. Our Elle is on the tennis team with Coach Russ Mayo who is great with the girls. He is supportive, nurturing, and fun. Elle absolutely love the tennis team girls. They treat each other with respect and kindness. We love being Vikings and thank all who took us in, treated us like one of their own from the start. That was a unique experience for us--one we did not have even in Provo for 13 years. Who could ask for more than that?

We love our town! That is saying a lot, because we were on a dire search for the last 2 years. When our Provo house finally sold the end of March 2013, we were scrambling. Two lots fell through in American Fork. One was sold out from underneath us due to timing and miscommunication issues and the other appraised for 20,000 less than the darn thing was worth. So a day after we gave up the second lot, Joe found a gorgeous half acre in a quite, lush cul-de-sac in beautiful, wonderful, fantastic Pleasant Grove. We could not love a town, neighborhood, people more than we do ours!
