Natural Deodorant
Friends, I am having a blast playing home chemist in the kitchen. Have you ever considered making your own natural deodorant infused with essential oils? Well, I am here to report that it is divine and works. Yes, I do try out the recipes on myself.
My two girls and I spent the better part of last Saturday creating a dozen or so concoctions for personal hygiene and natural home cleaning. I am thrilled to share these lovely recipes with you. I love the sustainability and wellness factor of each item.
Deodorant:
6 Tbls. coconut oil
1/4 cup baking soda
1/4 cup arrow root powder or cornstarch (You may find arrow root powder at health food store.)
5 drops essential oil of choice (I used lavender.)
1. In a small bowl, combine ingredients.
2. Pour into clean jar and let set, about 10 minutes.
3. After set, pop out of jar and transfer to a slightly larger jar with lid.
Tip: You may want to use a small paper bag or resealable bag to handle deodorant bar. I use my hands.
Makes 1 bar
