Utah Valley's Fab 40

It's out...Utah Valley Magazine's Fab 40 of 2014. I am happy to announce that my hunky husband made the list for his service as a volunteer coach in Utah Valley over the last 20 years. He has coached close to 40 teams! He has coached football, baseball, softball, girl's and boy's basketball, and soccer. I have never known another person who has volunteered as a coach more than JOE!

Coaching was not always easy. There were years, where it took it's toll. However, being the kind of man he is, when the city needed someone to "step up to the plate", they could count on Joe! What a wonderful trait. Joe sometimes over schedules us to serve and it can be tiring and time consuming. However, when all is said and done, I am grateful to be married to a man who loves to serve his fellowman whenever he can or is called upon--even when it's not convenient. He is my HERO. I married Superman!

No need to count the hours, but if you did the math, there would be hundreds with practices, games, reminder calls. More importantly, I figure, he coached about 400 Utah Valley Youth over the last two decades. Now that is FABULOUS!

One funny anecdote. Last fall, Joe was asked to coach Pleasant Grove's Flag Football Team for 9 year old boys. Last year, this same little league team did not win a single game. When one of the boys heard that Joe Evans was going to be his coach, he said with enthusiasm to his parents, "we are going to win!" And WIN they did. They did not lose a even one game. They were undefeated!

This afternoon, Joe and I had the delightful privilege to attend a Launch Party for the March/April Utah Valley Magazine Issue. The theme of Utah Valley's Fab 40 is Paint the Town! Notice the paint chip chain garlands and rainbow sprinkle lined milk shake glasses.

Here I am with Utah Valley Cover Girl, Lisa Valentine Clark. She is the creator and actress of Pretty Darn Funny--hilarious internet sketches. Last August, we appeared on Studio 5 the same day. However, today I had the chance to get to know her a little bit better during the Launch Party! She is super talented and darling!

Delicious milkshakes were served. Posters were signed. But the best part was the FABULOUS people! You won't want to miss Utah Valley's March/April issue! Read the short bios. They are inspiring!
