Duck Dynasty Die-hard

Meet a Duck Dynasty's 10-year-old die hard fan. When I asked him what he wanted to be for Halloween, he exclaimed, "Phil Robertson." No problem. I wanted my boy to be Happy, Happy, Happy.

Fortunate for me, I was able to find everything I needed at the ultimate "redneck" super center--Walmart. I thought that was appropriate. The costume was a snap...camo, camo, and more camo with a headband and grey beard. He was camouflaged from head to foot--even his shoes were camouflaged.

With the popularity of the Duck Dynasty reality series, I thought there would be at least a half dozen Duck Dynasty costumes at the elementary school's Halloween parade. There were 25 Elsas from Frozen. To my happy, happy, happy surprise, my son was the only one dressed as a Duck Dynasty Character.

Again, once trick-or-treating began, I thought I would answer the door to at least one other kid dressed as a Duck Dynasty star, but I didn't. As my husband took my son around to trick-or-treat in the neighborhood, he shared with me the adult's responses. He got high fives and delighted squeals. One lady exclaimed, "hey, Sid." Our boy shook his head and muffled under his beard, "Si."

Our boy loved dressing up as one of his favorite characters. Thanks to DVDs we have watched all six Duck Dynasty Seasons. We are reading, Phil Robertson's latest book, Un-Philtered: The Way I See It. I have enjoyed it and appreciate his life philosophy.

We are not hunters and never plan to be. However, like millions of fans across the globe, our favorite part of the show is when the Robertson Family gathers around the table for prayer and dinner together.
