Candied Popcorn

10 cups popcorn, popped
1/2 cup butter
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup light corn syrup
1 (3 oz.) package fruit flavored Jell-O gelatin
1/4 tsp. baking soda

1. Pop corn in large bowl and set aside.
2. In saucepan, melt butter.
3. Add sugar, corn syrup and gelatin and bring to boil while stirring.
4. Stir in baking soda.
5. Pour gelatin mixture over popcorn evenly and carefully stir to coat.
6. Make baseball size balls using hands. 

It was 1980 when I first sunk my teeth into one of these candied popcorn balls at a church bizarre. I thought I had died and gone to kid Heaven. I was addicted to the sweet, fruity, buttery flavor.
